Welcome to the Advance Centre
The Advance Centre is an organisation funded by the Tertiary Education Commission through a contract with LIFE Unlimited Charitable Trust.
The Centre was created to meet the educational needs of Deaf and hearing impaired tertiary students.
The Advance Centre liaises and works collaboratively with Tertiary Education Institutions to address the identified resource needs of Deaf and hearing impaired learners.

- Provide information and support for Deaf and hearing impaired tertiary students
- Provide information and guidance to Disability Services Staff at Auckland-based Tertiary Education Institutions
- Facilitate communication between relevant groups, such as between students and TEIs, and TEIs and NZSL interpreters
- Keep up to date on advances in the sector such as new equipment, new training opportunities
